Sports Xtra is the student-ran, live weekly sports show, similar to ESPN's Sportscenter, for UNC Athletics, offered as a course within the Hussman School of Journalism and Media (MEJO 129). I was a sports reporter during Fall 2024 and continued to help out in the broadcast studio control room on campus through the end of the academic year. As a Sports Reporter, I filmed numerous UNC Athletic Events like Men's and Women's Soccer, Women's Basketball, Volleyball, etc. and wrote and later edited VOs and VOSOTs for that week's show.

In addition, I pitched and produced three video packages on any sports story occurring on campus, including both club sports and Division 1. Two out of my three packages aired on the live show; my second package was included in the episode submitted for the Student Emmys.

Every time a UNC Division I sports team wins an NCAA National Championship, the Hussman School of Journalism and Media creates a 30-for-30 style documentary following the team's season all the way to their championship. From my work on Sports Xtra, I was able to be a part of that select group of students to work on the UNC Women's Soccer 2024 National Championship Documentary; I was tasked to assist in the production of the NCAA Semifinal Chapter.
